The unusual weather this fall and winter has brought some changes for our pets. We are seeing more fleas and ticks than normal for this time of year. In fact, we are seeing more fleas than we have seen in previous years. The mild summer allowed a larger than usual population to reproduce and the mild fall into winter has continued that trend. The earlier rain allowed the ticks to get started, but without some freezing weather and cold days, they have remained quite viable. We recommend a monthly flea and tick prevention program. We currently recommend Frontline Plus. It gets all the life stages of the fleas and kills the ticks. Don't forget to keep your pets on heartworm prevention all year long. We have seen mosquitos during the mild weather this month. If you currently purchase heartworm prevention on-line, you'll be pleased to know that we now have an on-line store with prices competitive with other pharmacies. The big difference is that when you purchase from our pharmacy, the companies will back up their guarantees, which they will not if purchased from the other on-line pharmacies. You can access our pharmacy from your pet portal. February is Dental Health Month! We have specials on our dental procedures and products. Have your pet's mouth checked and see if they need dental care. Get into the good habit of brushing your dog's teeth. We can help you learn to do this easy care treatment for your pets! Who needs doggy breath or kitty-halitosis!
